Romeo Doubs Placed on Injured Reserve by Patriots

The New England Patriots have placed wide receiver Romeo Doubs on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury sustained in their recent game. Doubs was injured during a 42-yard touchdown catch in the Patriots’ 26-19 victory over the New York Jets. The catch resulted in Doubs landing hard on his right shoulder, after which he exited the game and did not return. This season, Doubs has contributed 14 receptions, 261 receiving yards, and three touchdowns.

The injury will keep Doubs out of play for at least the next four matches, including an upcoming game against the Chicago Bears. After the Bears, the Patriots will face the Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers, and the Detroit Lions in Munich before a scheduled bye week. Despite the setback, the injury is reportedly not expected to have long-term effects, and Doubs is hopeful to return post-bye.

This marks another blow for the Patriots who have seen numerous players including starting right guard Mike Onwenu and his backup, among others, placed on injured reserve this season. The team had recently activated A.J. Brown from IR, anticipating a strong pairing with Doubs. To bolster their roster, New England has signed Ryan Miller to their practice squad.
